About

AFCA is a Licensed Child Placing Placing Agency.  Treatment Foster Care is a clinical intervention, which includes placement in specially trained foster parent homes, for children and youth with severe mental, emotional, or behavioral health needs. This includes developmentally delayed children and youth whose physical and emotional health needs require more intensive clinical and medical intervention than can be accommodated in traditional foster care. In and of itself, TFC is not a placement. It includes the placement of a child in a specialized TFC home.  AFCA will recruit, train, and support TFC foster parents and provide experienced clinical staff to oversee a child or youth’s individualized treatment plan and provide therapeutic services such as supervision and support, crisis intervention, case coordination, and medication support. AFCA places children and youth ages birth through 18 in our TFC homes. We strive to place these kids into AFCA Family Services TFC homes first, if possible.
